Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) System Requirements

Note: Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphones is NOT a supported operating system for Pocket Hal 7.02.

Hardware Compatibility List

In order to successfully install and run Pocket Hal you will require a supported PDA device and we recommend that you have a supported input device. The following list shows PDA models known to be compatible with Pocket Hal.

  1. Asus:
    • Mypal A636
  2. Audiovox:
    • XV6600 – Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
  3. Dell:
    • X50v - Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC 2003 SE.
    • X51v - Windows Mobile 5 for PDA.
  4. Dopod:
    • 818 - Windows Mobile 2003 SE Phone Edition. Needs Rom version 1.11 or later for Hal buttons to work correctly.
  5. E-Ten:
    • m600 - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
  6. Fujitsu Siemens:
    • Pocket LOOX 420 - Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC 2003 SE. Note - needs Bluetooth update and to have the "Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC 2003 Second Edition" update installed, for more details of this please refer to the Support Knowledgebase
    • Pocket LOOX 710 - Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC 2003 SE. Note - "BTTrayCE" Bluetooth stack error intermittently occurs. Soft reset required to resolve, this is a general Bluetooth issue and not Dolphin specific.
    • Pocket LOOX 720 - Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC 2003 SE. Note - "BTTrayCE" Bluetooth stack error intermittently occurs. Soft reset required to resolve, this is a general Bluetooth issue and not Dolphin specific.
  7. Hewlett Packard (HP):
    • iPAQ hx2410 - Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC 2003 SE. Note - processor is fairly slow, this can have a detrimental effect on performance.
    • iPAQ hx2750 - Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC 2003 SE.
    • iPAQ hx2490 - Windows Mobile 5 for PDA. Note - processor is fairly slow, this can have a detrimental effect on performance.
    • iPAQ hx2790 - Windows Mobile 5 for PDA.
    • iPAQ rx3715 - Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC 2003 SE.
    • iPAQ hw6510 - Windows Mobile 2003 SE Phone Edition. Note - there are "locked" versions of this device for the telecoms providers e.g. Cingular in the USA, the locked versions have not been tested.
    • iPAQ hw6515 - Windows Mobile 2003 SE Phone Edition. Note - there are "locked" versions of this device for the telecoms providers e.g. Cingular in the USA, the locked versions have not been tested.
    • iPAQ hx6910 - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. Note - there are only 2 PDA buttons, there is no Ctrl key on the built in keyboard, thus some Pocket Hal hot keys will not work without re-assignment.
    • iPAQ hx6915 - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. Note - there are only 2 PDA buttons, there is no Ctrl key on the built in keyboard, thus some Pocket Hal hot keys will not work without re-assignment.
  8. HTC
    • TyTN - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
  9. i-mate:
    • JAM - Windows Mobile 2003 SE Phone Edition. Note - Needs Rom version 1.11 or later for Hal buttons to work correctly.
    • JasJar - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
    • JasJam – Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. (This is the i-mate version of the HTC TyTN.)
    • KJam - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. Note - processor is fairly slow, this can have a detrimental effect on performance.
    • jAMin - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. Note - whilst this device is supported, it is not recommended as the performance is very poor due to the slow speed of the processor and the small amount of main memory.
  10. Mitac:
    • Mio A701 - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. Note - the buttons 1 and 3 are also the on / off switch and the phone buttons, therefore the "Shift" and "Ctrl" buttons are currently not available in Pocket Hal.
  11. O2:
    • XDA IIs - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
    • XDA III - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
    • XDA Exec - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
    • XDA Mini s - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. Note - processor is fairly slow, this can have a detrimental effect on performance.
  12. QTek:
    • S100 - Windows Mobile 2003 SE Phone Edition. Needs Rom version 1.11 or later for Hal buttons to work correctly.
    • S200 - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. Note - whilst this device is supported, it is not recommended as the performance is very poor due to the slow speed of the processor and the small amount of main memory.
    • 9000 - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
    • 9090 - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
    • 9100 - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. Note - processor is fairly slow, this can have a detrimental effect on performance.
    • S9600 - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
  13. T-Mobile:
    • MDA Compact - Windows Mobile 2003 SE Phone Edition. Needs Rom version 1.11 or later for Hal buttons to work correctly.
    • MDA III - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
    • MDA IV - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
    • MDA Vario - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. Note - whilst this device is supported, it is not recommended as the performance is very poor due to the slow speed of the processor and the small amount of main memory.
    • MDA Vario II - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition. (This is the T-Mobile version of the HTC TyTN.)
  14. Verizon:
    • XV6700 - Windows Mobile 5 PDA Phone Edition.
  15. Vodaphone:
    • VPA IV - Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition.
