If opening a HTML file with a linked CSS file, MS Word will launch a dialog box stating “Linked style sheets are only supported in web format files. By saving to this format, all links to style sheets will be lost.”.
This dialog box will appear behind EasyConverter which can give the impression the conversion has stopped.
The user must manually close the dialog for the conversion to continue.
Sometimes the conversion hangs after the dialog has been closed and the application must then be restarted.
Since EasyConverter does not support HTML files with a linked CSS file the solution is to include the style into the HTML file instead of linking a CSS to it. Depending on the skill of the user this can be done in two different ways.
Solution A. Just remove the CSS file link from the source HTML file without adding style information within the HTML file.
This is the easiest solution but will result in an HTML file with a different look. It can be done in any text editor, e.g. Notepad.
Solution B. Remove the CSS file link and add the style within the HTML file instead.
For detailed instructions to achieve Solution A or Solution B, please download the attached document.
