Products make US Premiere at ATIA

US gets its first look at Smart Hal and EasyConverter

10th Jan, 2007

Princeton, NJ, 10th January 2007-- Dolphin Computer Access Inc will make its annual appearance at the 8th Annual Assistive Technology Industry Association Conference.  Dolphin will be demonstrating its wide range of products including computer access software for the visually impaired, mobile software solutions, and its line of Alt Format Production tools.

Dolphin is also proud to announce two new products that will be added to its extensive product  line, EasyConverter and Smart Hal.  Both of these products will be available for viewing at Dolphin’s booth at ATIA in Orlando January 24-27.

EasyConverter quickly creates accessible materials for individuals that would benefit from Alt Format.  Braille, large print, mp3, and DAISY can all be converted from Microsoft Word files, html, or even PDF's.  Schools, public organizations, and private tutors can make their textbooks, public documents, and any printed material into formats accessible for people with visual impairments or learning disabilities.  EasyConverter allows a single document to be converted into multiple formats, enabling multiple users to quickly have access to the information they need in their preferred format.

Dolphin also welcomes Smart Hal to its growing line of mobile access solutions. "Smart Hal is exciting new technology from Dolphin enabling people who are blind to take complete control of their cellular phones,” says Mobile Products Manager Dave Williams. “Millions of Americans who are blind or visually impaired have been prevented from using many cell phone features such as contacts, text messaging and the ability to find out who is calling before answering.” Smart Hal is easy-to-use software which converts the contents of the phone's display into high quality synthetic speech.

“Visitors to the ATIA conference 2007 will be among the first people in the world to see and hear Smart Hal demonstrated live," Williams says.  Dolphin will hold a raffle for a free Smart Hal license for visitors to Dolphin’s booth at ATIA.

In addition to these new products, Dolphin will demonstrate its other products including Supernova, the only combined screen reader and magnifier, and EasyProducer, a DAISY conversion tool for Microsoft Word.

Dolphin Computer Access develops software to assist people with visual impairments and learning disabilities.  With 20 years of experience, Dolphin is an internationally recognized company with main offices in the UK, US, and Sweden.
