TIP: Enhancing the mouse pointer

Focus highlighting techniques

Supernova, Lunar and LunarPlus include focus highlighting options that help you easily locate the current focus position, such as the mouse pointer or current item in a menu. Use the "Focus Highlighting" dialog (located in the control panel's "Visual" menu) to choose which type of foci you want to be highlighted and what the highlight should look like.

The dialog has a number of different property sheets for different types of foci:

  • Mouse: change the highlighting options for the mouse pointer
  • Cursor: modify the settings for highlighting the beam cursor (text cursor) in
    edit areas
  • Line: controls the highlighting of the current line in edit areas
  • Focus: this contains the settings for highlighting the focus outside edit
    areas, e.g. in menus, on buttons etc.
  • Document Read: this controls the highlighting of the currently read word in
    document read mode
  • Virtual Focus: use this to modify the focus highlighting in Virtual Focus
    mode

To increase the visibility of your mouse pointer, Dolphin have also created a set of High-visibility mouse pointers available as a free download from the Dolphin website.
