Jake our Technical Support ApprenticeCelebrating National Apprenticeship Week (NAW 2019)

My name’s Jake and I’m undertaking a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician apprenticeship for Dolphin Computer Access. I have been an apprentice in Technical Support for just over a year and am close to finishing my apprenticeship. Over the year I have been here, I have faced easy and challenging tasks based on the multiple types of assistive software that staff at Dolphin design, create and support.

I applied for an apprenticeship as I wanted to learn while adapting to a professional working environment, giving me experience and skills that can be transferred to other possible job avenues in the future.

Being given the opportunity to work at Dolphin has broadened my knowledge of IT and the way that I go about troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.

I have to say my favourite part of being an apprentice at Dolphin is building colleague and customer relations. Having excellent rapport with both colleagues and customers gets me out of bed in the morning and gives me the drive to work harder.

I believe that apprenticeships are the way forward and a great alternative if you don’t wish to go to university but reap the same benefits…WITHOUT THE DEBT!
