On loading the Windows 8 logon screen, there is no speech output or keyboard focus, despite the “Voice at user logon” checkbox being selected in SuperNova’s “Start-up Preferences” dialog box.
This issue can occur on some laptop computers when fingerprint reader software is enabled, to allow users to logon to the computer using a swipe of their finger. In some instances, this software causes a loss of focus which also results in a lack of speech output.
Removing any fingerprint reader software from the computer (or disabling it from launching automatically at the Windows Logon screen) should resolve this issue.
