New in EasyReader Version 2026.02

EasyReader App continues to deliver important maintenance updates that make reading more accessible and empower readers with vision impairments, dyslexia and other print disabilities to read independently.

In this release: 
•    Exciting new premium features are added to EasyReader Education, to boost comprehension and revision for students with additional reading needs. 
•    Download and import allowances in the free app are updated
•    Windows performance and compatibility is improved
•    Additional fixes improve performance

NEW: AI-Powered Explore Tools

A new suite of premium 'Explore tools' are introduced for EasyReader Education in the 2026.02 release. These unlock powerful new learning opportunities for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). 

These new AI-powered study tools enhance learning, comprehension and boost revision. They include: 

Summary

Break the decoding barrier and quickly generate an instant summary to improve understanding of a chapter or selected text. Choose the length of the summary you prefer, for a short synopsis or broader view of the content.

Tutor

Ask questions and deepen your understanding of the text. The AI Tutor guides you to revisit the text and investigate the content further to encourage deeper thinking and increase comprehension.  

Quiz

Embed learning with multiple-choice quick quizzes that help with recall and understanding. Quizzes help learners test their knowledge of the text, and are an important tool for exam revision. 

Flashcards 

Boost retention of reading material with on-screen flashcards. These boost revision and help readers recall information to cement their learning ready for exams.

UPDATE: Download and Import Allowances

The 2026.02 release introduces updates that moderate the amount of content you can download and import in the free version of EasyReader App. 
Free Dolphin EasyReader App:

• Up to 5 book downloads
• Up to 5 sideloaded books and imported files
• 1 Clipboard text item 
• Up to 1 week offline use in EasyReader Windows App

Please note: Unlimited access is available to schools with EasyReader Education, individuals with EasyReader Premium and members of selected partner libraries.

IMPROVEMENT: EasyReader for Windows Performance

To improve performance and compatibility with both current and future Windows devices, Dolphin EasyReader for Windows is now exclusively available as a 64-bit application. 
As part of this update, the 32-bit version of the app and support for 32-bit Windows operating systems have been retired.
