Learn SuperNova: How to Connect to the Whiteboard Wizard

With SuperNova, you can connect to a teacher’s computer or interactive whiteboard, and read the screen or slide with your own choice of magnification and colours. This makes it easy to read your teacher’s notes or PowerPoint presentation, from anywhere in the classroom.

 

To connect SuperNova to an Interactive whiteboard, your teacher will first need to install the whiteboard wizard, on their own computer. This can be done by downloading the wizard from the dolphin website. Then on your SuperNova control panel, go to the visual tab, and select the “Modes” drop down menu, underneath the Connect and View button. Select the “Connect and View” submenu, and then choose the setting option.

 

From the settings dialogue box, select the Whiteboard tab, and you’ll be presented with the option to choose a pre-existing screen or whiteboard, or to add a new screen or whiteboard. Select the new button, and enter the details of the computer you wish to view.

 

First, enter the profile name, which can be any name of your choosing. For example, you might call your profile Mrs Smiths’ English Lesson, so the next time you won't need to add a new profile and can just choose one you previously created. Next, enter the machine name and the password of the computer. This can be found in the Whiteboard Wizard, installed on your teacher’s computer.

 

Once you have typed in the information, select the ok button, and your profile will be added to SuperNova. Select your new profile from the dropdown menu, and then select the ok button to confirm.

 

Select the Connect and View button, and SuperNova will now connect to your chosen whiteboard. If you wish to switch back to using Connect and View with a camera, go back to the Connect and View settings, select the whiteboard tab and choose the “Off” option from the drop down menu.
