Introducing Dolphin SuperNova version 25.06

We are pleased to announce that SuperNova & Dolphin ScreenReader version 25.06 is now available.

This update introduces the new Quick Action Recorder to help you automate everyday tasks with just a few keys, delivers smoother and more accurate magnification tracking, and continues to deliver essential fixes and improvements for using SuperNova with popular web browsers, email and Windows applications.

What's New in Version 25.06

Continuous Improvements Across Latest Microsoft Applications 

SuperNova 25.06 continues to enhance the accessibility and usability of popular Microsoft applications. These ongoing improvements help you to continue to work productively with the Microsoft applications you rely on every day.

• Windows Lock Screen: Your lock screen preferences are now correctly applied. Magnification and Speech will remain disabled when those options have been turned off in Settings.
• Windows 11 Secure Desktop: SuperNova correctly displays and allows you to interact with Secure Desktop.
• Edge: Character echo is now even more responsive when typing URLs into the address bar, so you can type faster and navigate easily.
• Edge: New tabs are now announced when they are created.
• Outlook for Windows: Read longer emails faster with "Click and Read From Here", now working as expected. Start reading from the exact point you need with a single click, helping you save time and stay productive.
• Windows 11 Explorer: Advanced folder view options are now announced as expected.
• Word 365: Changes have been made to improve speed and responsiveness when navigating Word Settings.
• Teams 365: Improved speech annoucements throughout Teams 365, including when creating calendar events, selecting recurring meeting options, using meeting controls such as microphone and camera, and navigating calendar events.
• Notepad: The Find and Replace function now works as expected.
• Notepad: Tracking now works as expected with SuperNova Magnification.
• Notepad: Status and menu bars are now correctly announced with SuperNova Speech.

NEW: Quick Action Recorder - automate everyday tasks

SuperNova 25.06 introduces the Quick Action Recorder, helping you save time and improve your productivity by automating the activities and tasks you perform most often.

The Quick Action Recorder enables you to record a sequence of key actions. These actions can then be played back as an automated sequence using just a few keys.

You can access the Quick Action Recorder through Layered Hotkeys. Each recording is allocated its own unique set of Hotkeys, ensuring there are no conflicts with the standard Layered Hotkeys you already use.

New: USB Braille Standard (HID Braille) Support

SuperNova now supports the USB Braille Standard (HID Braille) driver, extending compatibility with the latest generation of braille displays. This reduces the need for device-specific drivers and makes it easier to connect supported displays across Windows devices. 

IMPROVED: SuperNova Magnification

SuperNova 25.06 makes it easier to keep your place on screen and navigate with confidence at any magnification level.

• IMPROVED: Smoother, more accurate tracking. Magnification tracking throughout SuperNova is now more accurate and responsive, providing smoother tracking of the focus area and mouse movement. Focus Tracking has also been improved across Microsoft 365 applications and Windows.
• FIX: Magnification on the Windows sign-in screen. SuperNova magnification controls now appear and work as expected on the Windows sign-in screen, allowing you to adjust the zoom level before signing in.

IMPROVED: Mozilla Firefox

SuperNova 25.06 delivers faster typing and clearer feedback in the popular Mozilla Firefox web browser.

• IMPROVED: Navigation. Character echo is now even more responsive when typing URLs into the address bar, so you can type faster and navigate easily.
• FIX: Drop-down lists. Drop-down lists are now correctly announced with SuperNova Speech.
• FIX: Magnification tracking. Drop-down lists in Firefox are now appropriately tracked with SuperNova Magnification.

IMPROVED: Thunderbird Email

SuperNova 25.06 brings clearer announcements for common activities in the Thunderbird Email application.

• FIX: Calendar appointments, events and tasks. Dialogs used to create and edit Calendar appointments, events and tasks are now announced as expected.
• FIX: Starred email status. SuperNova now announces when you toggle the starred status of an email in the message list, including when using the "S" Hotkey. This provides clear confirmation that an email has been starred or unstarred, helping you manage messages that you want to refer to later.
• FIX: Radio buttons. Radio buttons in a list are now announced correctly, enabling you to navigate forms more easily with SuperNova Speech and Screen Reader.

PLUS: A Host of Accessibility Enhancements

SuperNova 25.06 includes a wide range of additional improvements, fixes and accessibility enhancements.

• Adobe Reader: Support is maintained for 32-bit Adobe Reader.
• Braille: Fixed an issue that prevented the Dot 7 and Dot 8 input keys from performing the Backspace and Enter commands when using Norwegian Computer Braille input.
• EasyReader: For clearer feedback when using EasyReader with SuperNova, checkboxes are now appropriately announced as "checked" or "unchecked" throughout, making it easier to understand and interact with content.
• Layered Hotkeys: Access Layered Hotkeys easily in Dutch, with full language translation now available throughout.
• Speech: Changes made to the pitch of a custom voice are now applied correctly, ensuring your selected speech preferences are retained when editing the voice in SuperNova.

Updating to SuperNova 25.06

Customers with an active Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) will be automatically notified when SuperNova 25.06 is available. Simply start SuperNova and follow the on-screen prompt to begin the update.

If your SMA has expired, now is the ideal time to renew. An active SMA gives you access to the latest accessibility innovations, including the all-new Quick Action Recorder, continued use of AI-powered features including Image Descriptions and Face Position, and ensures SuperNova continues to work seamlessly with rolling updates to Windows and other popular applications.
