A short tutorial showing you how to use the Speak Keys settings in SuperNova and Dolphin ScreenReader.

Sarah: Speak keys allow you to gain information about where you are on the screen. When reading or writing text in a document to hear the letter, press number pad four.

SuperNova: M

Sarah: To hear the word, press number pad five.

SuperNova: Miles

Sarah: To hear the line, press number pad six.

SuperNova: A few miles south of Soledad, the Salinas River drops in close.

Sarah: To hear text you have selected, press number pad one.

SuperNova: Selected. Miles south of Soledad.

Sarah: To hear information about the window you have open, press number pad nine.

SuperNova: Of Mice and Men dot Microsoft Word.

Sarah: These keys and be pressed multiple times to hear the information in different amounts of detail announcing information by word…

SuperNova: Miles.

Sarah: ...letter...

SuperNova: M I L E S

Sarah: Or using the phonetic alphabet.

SuperNova: Mike, India, Lima, Echo, Sierra.

Sarah: If you are not quite sure where you are in the screen, simply press num pad seven to hear a description of your current position.
