What’s New in EasyReader App - Version 11

We are pleased to announce the release of version 11 of the EasyReader App.

EasyReader App v11 is now available across a wide range of platforms including iOS, iPadOS, Android, Amazon Fire, Windows, macOS.

You can also use EasyReader on Chromebooks with Android app support enabled.

What’s New

The latest release of EasyReader App removes even more barriers to accessible reading. It introduces new features and improvements, so people with vision impairments and dyslexia can access and read more books.

The latest version of EasyReader App makes everything easier, including the way you access your library or book collection.

As always, the EasyReader App is free to download and use. You can download and read books with text, text-to-speech (TTS) and audio from your preferred accessible libraries.

Getting Started with EasyReader App

It's now even easier to get started with EasyReader App.

From the release of version 11, a Dolphin Account is not required. Instead, you can go straight into the ‘My Books’ list in your EasyReader App, and sign in to your preferred library service.

Please note:

  • If you already use the free EasyReader App with a Dolphin Account, you can of course continue to do so.
  • If you would like to take advantage of exclusive reading features available in EasyReader Premium, you will need to set up and use a Dolphin Account.

Library Services Around the World

Dolphin is committed to breaking down barriers to reading all around the world.  With EasyReader App, we provide the access you need to books so you can read and learn in ways which suit your sight and your reading preferences.

EasyReader App now provides free global access to 47 libraries and accessible newspaper services. Together, our collaboration continues to remove barriers to accessible reading. EasyReader App is trusted by blind, partially sighted and neurodivergent readers around the world.

Our most recent addition is the Child Vision Online Bookshelf in Ireland.

Improved Error Messaging

In rare cases, there are instances where EasyReader App is unable to load titles from a connected library service into the Reader. This may be due to an invalid book or a failed connection when opening a streaming book.

To ensure you can get to the bottom of any issues, we have updated our error messaging information.  So, if a book fails to load, EasyReader App now displays a more informative message to provide you with details on what to do next.

These messages also include a link to Dolphin Knowledge Base articles as these contain helpful information to support you further and provide additional tips and information on how to proceed.

New benefits in EasyReader Premium

In EasyReader Premium, version 11 introduces additional, exclusive features to help you import and access content you may have previously found difficult to read.

If you hold an EasyReader Premium Plan (whether a Personal Plan or an Education Plan), you can import an unlimited number of files to read with accessibility features.

You may also import an unlimited number of texts from your device’s clipboard, to read with accessibility features in the EasyReader App.

Thinking of using EasyReader Premium

If you are considering using EasyReader Premium, we are introducing in-app messages with version 11 which highlight exclusive features for those who would like to use them.

This includes reading on multiple devices, downloading additional reading voices and importing PDF files.

These messages will also make it easier for users to subscribe to an EasyReader Premium Personal Plan from their app store, or the Dolphin website.
