To help you get the most out of GuideConnect, your licence comes with a 12-month Premium Plan. With a Premium Plan - formerly GuideConnect Annual Support (GCAS) - you receive:

  • Exclusive access to premium features including Video Calling
  • Regular updates containing new features and improvements
  • Top priority status with Dolphin’s dedicated Support team

Premium Plans include all the same benefits as an Annual Support Agreement, with additional premium features, such as video calling.

Premium Plan gives you access to new features as soon as they are added to GuideConnect. The first of these is Video Calling, a new development coming soon to GuideConnect. The video calling feature will be a simple way for users to communicate with loved ones using GuideConnect from their computer, tablet or TV. It's a great way to stay in touch with friends and family, especially if you find using other video calling systems difficult to use.

Please note: Only customers with active Premium Plans can access GuideConnect Video Calling, so ensure your Premium Plan is up to date to benefit.


Regular updates iconRegular updates direct to your computer

Premium Plan entitles you to all GuideConnect updates for the duration of your plan.

You can enjoy the latest features and improvements with peace of mind that your GuideConnect will support the latest changes to Windows. With Premium Plan, you won't need to wait for DVDs to arrive by post. GuideConnect will remind you when an update is available and will install it for you through the internet.

Renewal iconRenewing your Premium Plan for GuideConnect

We have extended your Premium Plan until 31st March 2021 at no extra cost. From this date you can renew your Premium Plan for £75 for the next 12 months, or for complete peace of mind, we also offer renewal plans for periods up to five years.

When your Premium Plan is due to expire, renewing is quick and easy. Simply contact Dolphin’s friendly team on 01905 754577 and select option 1.

If you live outside the UK, renew your Premium Plan by contacting the company you purchased GuideConnect from. Dolphin reserves the right to amend the Premium Plan price upon renewal, you will be advised of this before you renew.


Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I bought GuideConnect with an Annual Support Agreement. Is a Premium Plan the same thing?

Yes, Premium Plan is the new name for GuideConnect Annual Support - also known as GCAS - all active Annual Support agreements will automatically be transferred to Premium Plan.

Premium Plan includes all the same benefits as an Annual Support Agreement, with additional premium features such as video calling.


Q. What happens if I choose not to renew my Premium Plan?

If a Premium Plan is not for you, you can still continue to use GuideConnect. However, once the renewal date has passed, you will no longer be able to use premium features (such as video calling), or receive updates for new features and improvements. You will still be able to receive excellent support from Dolphin’s designated Services team, though you may experience slightly longer waiting times.


Q. How do I know when my Premium Plan is going to expire?

If your Premium Plan is close to expiring, GuideConnect will tell you when you start up.

You can also check when your Premium Plan is due to expire from within the product:

  • From the Main menu, choose ‘Tools’
  • Then choose 'About’
  • Select 'Check my Premium Plan’
  • GuideConnect will tell you when your Premium Plan is due to expire


Q. I’ve owned GuideConnect for more than 12 months, so my Premium Plan should have already expired. Why am I still receiving updates?

As a goodwill gesture, Dolphin extended the expiry date on all Premium Plans to at least February 2021. This means all customers will continue to receive updates until at least February 2021.

In order to receive updates and continue to use Premium features after 31st March 2021, you will need to ensure your Premium Plan is active.


Q. My Premium Plan has expired and my GuideConnect is out of date. Can I still renew my Premium Plan?

Yes, you can renew your Premium Plan at any time. Please note that if your Premium Plan has expired, your new Premium Plan will start from the original renewal date. We recommend that you keep your Premium Plan up to date to ensure you get the best value for money.


Q. What do I receive as proof of ownership of Premium Plan for GuideConnect?

If you purchase a device with GuideConnect pre-installed, your Premium Plan details will be included on your delivery note.

If you receive your GuideConnect licence electronically - with an unlock code via email - you will receive your Premium Plan details by email.

If you purchased your GuideConnect from our network of trusted local dealers, they can also provide details by email on request.
